Daily Summary Report: Register Closures

The Register Closures category of the Daily Summary report gives you details of the following:

  • Register closure date and time
  • Cash, card, and check collections of the day
  • Amount deposited in bank
  • Opening and closing balance

Field Descriptions

The following are the entries in this category and explanation of the values:

Field Reading the Value Additional Information
Closure time

This field displays the date and time when the register was closed.

Example

In the screenshot, the value reads 2016-11-17 22:46:02. 

  • This means that the front office closed the register on 17th November 2016 at 22:46 hours.
  • You can validate the register closing details from the Closing Date column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).

 

Cash

This fields displays the total cash in the register.

The amount displayed is inclusive of the selected day's cash collection and opening balance.

Example

In the screenshot, the value reads 461.97.

  • This means the total cash holding in the register is $ 416.97.
    Notice that the Opening Balance is $ 300, the cash collections (as per Collections category) is $ 161.97. Adding the Opening Balance and the Cash collection gives this number.

 

  • You can validate the cash collected on the selected date from the Cash Collection column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).
Card

This field displays the total amount collected on the selected day through cards. 

Example

In the screenshot, the value reads 1,425.85. 

  • This means $ 1,425.85 is collected through cards.
  • You can validate the card collections on the selected date from the Credit Card column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).
Check

This field displays the total amount collected by means of check.

  • You can validate the check collections on the selected date from the Checks column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).
Bank Deposit

This field displays the total cash deposited in the bank on the selected date.

Example

In the screenshot, the value reads 161.97.

  • This means that $ 161.97 was deposited in the bank on the selected date.
  • You can validate the cash deposits on the selected date from the Cash Deposits column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).
Opening Balance

This field displays the cash available in the register when the center opened for business on the selected date.

Example

In the screenshot, the value reads 300. 

  • This means $ 300  in cash was available for transactions when the center opened for business on the selected date.

 

  • You can validate the opening balance on the selected date from the Opening Balance column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).
Closing Balance

This field displays the cash available in the register after making the bank deposit when the center closes for business on the selected date.

Example

In the screenshot, the value reads 300. 

  • This means $ 300  is the available in the register after making the bank deposit.
  • The closing balance of today becomes the opening balance of tomorrow and is available for transactions when the center opens for business the next day.
  • You can validate the closing balance on the selected date from the Closing Balance column of the Register Closures report (Reports > Daily Reports > Register Closure).
