Parent Category Creation for Services
Each service must be assigned to a category. For example, facials can have skin care as the parent category. There are certain default categories that are present in the system, by default.
To create a category for services, perform the following steps:
- Ensure you are in the Admin mode and at the Organization level.
- Click Categories in Admin Dashboard.
- Click Services.
- Click Add on the top right corner.
- Enter appropriate details in the fields by referring to the following field description table:
You can give the category that you create a unique code for identification. For example, Skin Care can be called SC.
Name the category based on what it will cater to. For example, Hair Care, Body Massage and so on.
Since you are creating the parent category in this procedure, you do not have to select anything in this drop-down list.
Describe this category. For example, Facial Glow services give a golden glow.
The order in which this category appears on the Webstore and the Customer Mobile App (CMA). For example, if you enter 1 as the display order for Facial Glow, then Facial Glow will appear as the first item in the Services list on the Webstore and CMA.
Click inside the field and select the color which will appear in the Appointment Book for this category.

Click inside the field and select the color in which the text for this appointment category will appear in the Appointment Book.
- Select the Show in digital catalog check box if you want the category to appear in the catalog.
- Click Save.
Sub Category Creation for Services
To create a service sub category for a parent category, perform all the steps as described in the previous procedure and select a parent category. See the following screenshot for a better understanding of how the service sub category will appear for a service parent category.
